This story captured me from the first page right up until the last word.
I felt so drawn into the story unfolding & especially towards the strong character of Poppy, she's definitely not one to be messed with. The emotions she goes through stay with you long after the last page.
I was also drawn to Zoey who I wished had a different life to the one she was so ingrained in because of her family.
The twists, the turns, the characters lives and the secrets that will make you gasp, will keep you reading & reading & afterwards you'll want to go back & read it all again.
Can't wait to see what happens in the second book.

This book is so very different to her usual way of writing.
This tells the story of Poppy’s survival & the struggles of her family & a secret from her father’s past which comes back to haunt them all. Then there’s a wicked twist at the end.
I can’t say anymore apart from you don’t want to miss out on this book.
It only took me 2 pick ups to read this, you just become so engrossed in the story.
Clare has this uncanny knack of reeling you in & keeping you wanting for more with her style of writing, loved every single thing about this book.

A different style from Clare, but honestly did not disappoint, I was gripped from from the start, totally invested in Poppy and her fight, needing to know what was going to happen next would she manage to escape or survive. The need to know all this and what would become of the Graves siblings kept me reading longer than I had time for at times. Absolutely brilliant Clare can’t wait for more like this!
